With the turkey on the table surrounded by a dazzling array of other delights, take a moment to reflect. Look around at your family and friends. Giving thanks at Thanksgiving just feels right. This is the time of year to count your blessings although this is the busy season, cooking sumptuous meals, beginning our holiday shopping and pulling out our winter clothes.
We have a lot to be thankful for in spite of any challenges we, our families or friends may have had. Take a few minutes to look back and see what you have accomplished for the year. How many wonderful events like new births and weddings, graduations and job promotions did you experience? What new adventures did you start and what projects have you completed? If you take a breath and reflect, you cannot help but be grateful for so many things.
And once the table has been cleared and you rush to the after-Thanksgiving sales, please remember to remain grateful. If the stress of the holidays gets to you, relax for a minute and recall all the fulfilling occasions of the year. The holiday season should be a time of joy and giving, a time to remember friends and how fortunate you are to have them.
